14TH ANNUAL ROCKAWAY YOUTH SUMMIT
COOKOUT ON THE ROCK
FRANC is back again this year to host its annual Youth Summit at Beach 32nd StreetRavens Field alongside partnering organizations within the Rockaway community.
Join us on June 5th for a day filled with fun activities, workshops and other resources for young people. This is a free community-wide event.
Imagine having the power to decide what your community needs and then being able to access city funds to do something about it. In New York City, you have that power! It’s called The People’s Money, a participatory budgeting process run by the NYC Civic Engagement Commission! From May 14th until June 24th all New Yorkers ages 11 and older - regardless of immigration status - can vote on how to spend millions of dollars of the city budget! Don’t miss your opportunity to make a difference.
Queens Recovery and Resiliency Committee with Far Rockaway Arverne Non-Profit Coalition are checking in with our residents to get their contact information for our emergency outreach initiative. Receive text messages about power outages, coastal storms, floods, etc. Rockaway is a peninsula with only 7 access points that allow one to leave, so stay updated on evacuation plans, food allocation and volunteer initiatives.

Starting on May 23rd, Edgemere Farm will be offering a wide variety of fresh, affordably-priced seasonal produce, herbs, and fruits every Friday and Saturday until November.

"This program is specific to migrant youths ages 15 to 24. We provide mentorship, financial literacy, academic support, career development, and extracurricular activities. We aim to promote long-term self-sufficiency, cultural pride, and positive civic and social engagement through trusted mentorship and practical skill-building."
